Interviewer –It’s an honor to speak with you today. Why don’t you give us some details about you and your story. How did you get to where you are today?
Thank you for speaking with me, it’s an honor to speak with you as well. My name is Kallion (Kayleon) I’m a singer, songwriter, and producer born and raised in Los Angeles, California (the bad part of Los Angeles California), And it wasn’t easy. But thank god for the family I’m blessed with, because I grew up around some true music heads that had issues and hustles. But they gave me gems to be strong to stand on my own. I was built to get things done no matter what.
Interviewer –I’m sure your success has not come easily. What challenges have you had to overcome along the way?
I won’t lie and say success came easy, because it didn’t, and it doesn’t. But my work ethic is different so I know the work I’m doing will pay off. But I had to grind. I started my music career at fourteen writing songs inspired by Shakespeare. I really wanted to make music, but I felt like nobody was willing to help me. So I found my own opportunities, or I created my own opportunities. I got tired of waiting for someone to come and do something with my god given talent. So I prayed for direction, and started working. Somethings worked, somethings didn’t. But I had faith, and I wasn’t afraid to test the waters. But not being heard for along time, and being told you can’t, and you’re not good enough does a lot to your confidence. But I took my power back.
Interviewer -Let’s talk about the work you do. What do you specialize in and why should someone work with you over the competition?
I believe I specialize in life. I’m young, and I’m living. And I’m making choices for me. And honestly I don’t look at music as a competition singers are supposed to be story tellers in my opinion. Music is suppose to be therapeutic. But I’ll answer your question to the best of my abilities. I believe people should want to work with me over others because I know how to be a team player, and I know how to lead the team. I know as a human being, I’m not perfect and I don’t know everything. But what I do know, I’ll show you. And you show me what you know. And we’ll build off each other’s skills, and we’ll win together.
Interviewer -What’s your best piece of advice for readers who desire to find success in their life?
Don’t give up on you. Because while you’re doubting how dope you are. There’s someone cheering you on from afar. You are dope, and don’t let anyone. Including yourself, tell you different. And people will judge you, and won’t even know you. But while their talking about you, make sure you give them something good to talk about.
Interviewer -Speaking of success, what does the word mean to you?
Success right now for me means full freedom, I’m free but I’m not free to create art full time.
Interviewer -What’s next for you?
I am actually getting ready to start back releasing new music. I’m working on a project called still learning, and it pretty much picking up where I left off with teach me, which is a project I released back in 2020. But be on the look out for my new single “Hope” that’s the leading song off of this new project I’m working on. I won’t tell too much. But stay tuned.
