Throughout the decades, sports have always been an exciting and great way to bring people together. No matter which sport is your favorite, they all carry high energy and explosive moments. Today, I am here to discuss an All-Star NBA team, The Los Angeles Lakers. As a reporter, I have attended many NBA games over the years and I can say that The Laker home games are exhilarating experiences. There is so much that goes on when you are at the game that you do not see on TV. There are giveaways, dancers, bands and even big celebs that show up at most games.
One of my absolute favorite highlights of attending a Lakers home game is the extremely huge magical movie screen that they do right after the National Anthem. If I’m not mistaken, the Lakers are the only team in the NBA that do such a spectacle. There is a ring around the massive scoreboard that hangs above the court which hides the screen material and THEN it literally drops down, appearing from above. Once the screen drops, the Laker Girls position themselves to the middle to ensure it is in a perfect 360. Then a gigantic video image shows up with great sound. It is so big and powerful. After the video plays, the entire screen falls from the ring and they immediately rush it off court in time for player introductions. It’s like a high tech dance, technology and people working together.
I am not sure how big the screen is but it most definitely looks bigger than a movie screen plus it’s in a huge circle so you can see the video no matter where you are in the arena. A 360 screen is phenomenal. It’s a pleasure to be able to watch the Lakers experience in person. The Lakers had a dynamic comeback season especially since the team started at 2-10 and made it to the Western Conference finals. I’m sure the fans are looking forward to the 2023-2024 season. If you are in L.A and love sports, you should be sure to attend a Laker game. You will love the experience and the roar of the crowd, a true adrenaline pumping atmosphere. The legacy of the Los Angeles Lakers is undeniable. Their footprint in the NBA has always been just as massive as their opening “screen drop.”
